FAQs:
Why does my demo start full screen and shrink to a much smaller size?
The demo-version of ClusterWorks is programmed to start at full screen and quickly shrink to a smaller size. The full-version, however, remains at full-size for the duration of the program. To purchase the full-version for $12.95,
I can hear my Audio CD playing but it is not "interacting" with ClusterWorks.
First make sure you are viewing one of nine Stupa Modules as these are the only ones that interact with Audio input. To view one of these, press the "Tab" key, navigate to the five small boxes at the bottom of the screen and click on the rightmost box. Now click on any of these nine patterns.
The next step is to make ClusterWorks listen to Audio input by pressing the "Command" and "I" keys simultaneously. For best results, resist moving the mouse as this will override the Audio CD's effect on the movement of Stupa patterns. Also, as interaction can be subtle for some kinds of music -- usually those with complicated chord progressions and tempos -- please be patient. The longer ClusterWorks "listens" to the Audio input the more refined its movements will become.
ClusterWorks is reacting to Audio Input, but is there any way to exaggerate its movement?
Yes. For faster computers (G3 or better), increase the "SPEED" gauge, located at the bottom of the screen, to it's maximum value. For less fluid movements, and therefore, more exaggeration, decrease the "DELAY" gauge to a value less than maximum -- say half way.
Is there any way to make ClusterWorks "listen" to audio input other than from CDs?
Yes. In fact, ClusterWorks is capable of reacting to whatever audio input you select in the Macintosh & Sound Control Panel. Some alternatives include, Microphone, MIDI, or even your modem if you were so inclined. To do this, first open the "Control Panels" folder located under the Apple menu of MacOS. Locate the control panel entitled "Monitors & Sound" and open it. Click the button labeled "Sound" and navigate to the pop-up menu under "Sound Monitoring Source." Simply select whichever input source you want and close this control panel. That's it, now relaunch ClusterWorks and follow the same steps for enabling Audio CD interaction.
I purchased the full-version of ClusterWorks from your web site, but am having trouble registering it.
The registration dialog in ClusterWorks is case sensitive. This means that it will treat an email address like "happycustomer@wonderlab.com" differently from "happyCuSTOmer@wonderlab.COM". Likewise, it will treat a serial number such as "CW0123456789" differently from "cw0123456789". Please make sure to enter your email address exactly as you did on the order form, and input the serial number the same way it appears in the confirmation message you received from us.
Is ClusterWorks Y2K compliant?
Needless to say, yes!
Known Conflicts:
GoMac Utility -- This needs to be disabled before launching ClusterWorks
